Siihen on osallistuttu pienest\u00e4 pit\u00e4en ja t\u00e4n\u00e4 p\u00e4iv\u00e4n\u00e4 pid\u00e4n huolta vallan kuusen koristelusta. \u00c4iti laittaa kotona kynttil\u00e4t kuuseen ja min\u00e4 k\u00f6ynn\u00f6kset ja pallot. Eli l\u00e4mmitet\u00e4\u00e4n ja sekoitellaan 400 grammaa sokeria, 250 grammaa voita, desi siirappia ja toinen samanmoinen vett\u00e4 kattilassa. L\u00e4mpim\u00e4\u00e4n seokseen lis\u00e4t\u00e4\u00e4n kaksi teelusikallista kanelia, kaksi teelusikallista inkiv\u00e4\u00e4ri\u00e4, kaksi teelusikallista neilikkaa, kolme teelusikallista suolaa ja teelusikallinen pomeranssinkuorta. Ruokasoodaa sekoitetaan kolmen teelusikallisen verran puoleen desiin haaleata vett\u00e4. Lopuksi lis\u00e4t\u00e4\u00e4n vehn\u00e4jauhoja viel\u00e4 700 grammaa, jotta seoksesta tulee kiinte\u00e4 taikina. Se saa olla seuraavaan p\u00e4iv\u00e4\u00e4n asti maustumassa. N\u00e4ist\u00e4 kyseisist\u00e4 pipareista tuli t\u00e4hti\u00e4 ja noin kymmenen senttimetrin kokoisia. Paista pipareita 200-asteisessa uunissa viitisen minuuttia, kunnes piparit ovat kauniin ruskeita.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Kunnolla j\u00e4\u00e4htyneit\u00e4 pipareita voi alkaa koristella oman mielens\u00e4 mukaan. N\u00e4iden kanssa kokki vietti useammankin tunnin, ett\u00e4 aikaa saa uppoamaan helpostikin. Pipareiden reunoja varten kokki teki paksumpaa kuorrutetta laittamalla desiin tomusokeria teelusikallisen tai kaksi vett\u00e4 sek\u00e4 elintarvikev\u00e4ri\u00e4, jos reunoista oli tulossa v\u00e4rilliset. T\u00e4st\u00e4 siis sai tarpeeksi paksua pursotettavaa, ettei se heti karannut reunoilta yli. Keskiosan t\u00e4ytt\u00f6\u00e4 varten tomusokerikuorrute saa olla v\u00e4h\u00e4n notkeampaa. Sen pit\u00e4\u00e4 antaa kuitenkin j\u00e4m\u00e4ht\u00e4\u00e4 t\u00e4ysin, ennen kuin sen p\u00e4\u00e4lle voi tehd\u00e4 uusia kuvioita.
